On January 09, 2013, seven construction workers were seriously injured because a crane collapsed at a Long Island City, Queens work site (http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/crane-collapses-construction-workers-queens-article-1.1236637). This incident is still under investigation. Also, there has been a previous accident in 1992 which resulted in the death of one worker. The crane’s wire snapped because it was worn out. In 2008, crane owner James Lomma was under investigation for criminally negligent homicide because two workers died after a crane collapsed. He was eventually found not guilty. The examples a…(drop)
